The name ‘Penny Thoughts’ comes from a question my grandfather asked me when I was a child “A penny for your thoughts Emmy Kate”. I am very close with my grandparents and am very lucky and thankful I still have them in my life today.

I grew up watching my Grandmother (Hi Nan) sewing, I could hear the sound of her overlocker and sewing machine as I stepped into her house for our almost daily visits. That sound for me will forever be associated with love and happiness.

I started Penny Thoughts as a little hobby, I thought, if I can’t find exactly what I want in the stores, then I am going to make it myself! I started making items for my daughter, then my family and friends and it has been growing ever since.

I love buntings. Did you know that buntings have been around since the 17^th century? How cool is that! And they don’t seem to be going out of style any time soon. They are perfect for market stalls, parties, weddings, cake smash photos, window décor, honestly, the list goes on! Anyway, you can tell I’m a little passionate about them.

I especially love seeing my creations in my customers spaces around the world!

I use the highest quality fabrics and materials. I am based in Queensland, Australia. I am married to my best friend who has supported me in growing Penny Thoughts and I have one beautiful daughter (oh and a Dog named Darcy!). All buntings are hand sewn, by me.
